Domesticizing

I used to be really creative.  Back in high school, and even a few years after, I scrapbooked, crocheted, cross-stitched, etc.  But for some reason I lost my creativity... about the time I got married.    I don't think there's a correlation there, but the timing is about right.  :)
Anyway, two years ago for Christmas I got a sewing machine.  I was determined to get back into being some type of crafty.  That sewing machine has been sitting in my closet unopened since then.  For some reason, this week I had the urge to learn to use the machine and actually make something.  My sofa pillows are in bad shape, and I've been wanting to recover them for quite some time.  Also, one of my friends had made a jersey purse and I wanted to try one of those as well.
So, here they are:

Not too bad for my first projects, if I do say so myself!  I have some work to do, but maybe there's still a creative part of me somewhere inside of me.  At least, until Troy came home and asked if that was the ugly pillow I was going to cover.  Thanks for the vote of confidence, Troy.

Next up, maybe I can work on my wedding scrapbook that's seven years overdue.  :)
