Wow, it's been over a month!! Sorry to anyone who has been checking for updates! I wanted to update this blog regularly for anyone interested, but also for my own memories. I haven't even started Kera's baby book yet (yikes!), and I'm depending on this (and some other things) to put that together this summer when I have a little more time to myself.
A lot has happened in the last month. My department at work was eliminated, causing momentary panic. However, my position was moved to a different department. While I'm thankful to have a job, it has been somewhat stressful between the many questions, getting used to a new manager, and navigating all of unknowns. But things are (I think) settling down and I'm feeling more comfortable. Hopefully it continues to be this way!
Kera continues to grow and develop like crazy! She got two bottom teeth back around Thanksgiving, and we've had others popping in and out since then. I really thought I was going crazy and imagining these glimpses of teeth, but finally Troy saw one before it disappeared. I asked the doctor, and he confirmed that it does happen. Last week a top tooth finally appeared and didn't disappear! Two more top teeth came in this past week, and this morning a fourth was peeking through the gums. We'll see if that one stays around. It's interesting how much her appearance has changed with these three new top teeth... she looks so much older!
She is also talking a ton. I think it started when she got her first top tooth. All of a sudden her babbling just started making sense, and she started mimicking us. This weekend especially I kept hearing her say various words. I'm not sure if I just want to hear it or if she really is saying these words, but I'll keep encouraging it! The words we're sure she knows include juice, milk, kitty, duck, uh oh, ouchie, up, out, down.
Three weeks ago for Spring Break we went to Edisto Beach, SC. We had initially planned on going to Charleston, but I really wanted to go to a beach, so we found a small house to rent about an hour south closer to the beach. Kera did amazingly well on the 11 hour drive each way as we drove mostly during the night so she could sleep. My mom and step dad met us there, so that was a lot of fun for Kera! Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the greatest for the beach, but we made the best of it.
The week after vacation I had to work in the office all week, so Troy's parents came down to watch Kera. She had a great time with them, and I think she's been a little bored with just me after the back to back weeks with grandparents. But we're getting back on schedule.
I'll try to update more frequently for anyone still checking this!!!
