Keragan update

Last night was a little rough for Keragan. After three full bottle feedings I guess she was a little worn out. She had a couple of alerts where she stopped breathing for 10 seconds, but came back on her own each time. She also hasn't been able to finish a bottle feeding since 9 last night. They have her on caffeine, which helps keep her alert and remind her to breathe. Because she has been gaining weight, they upped her dosage, so she's been doing a lot better this morning. Speaking of, she is now just over 4 lbs!! So they should move her from the isollete to a crib tomorrow!!!
She had to have two blood transfusions last Saturday, so we did blood work to see how her hemoglobin is doing. Thankfully everything is looking good, so we shouldn't need another transfusion.
At this point its really just a waiting game. They told us to expect 2-4 weeks, however thats assuming all goes as planned. Pray for her little lungs to continue to develop so she grows out of the apnea. Also, there are some other legal issues that need to be straightened out before we can take her home. Pray that they are taken care of quickly and cheaply.
I'll try to update this blog often. I've received so many emails and texts it'll take awhile to get back to everyone, but know that I am reading them and appreciate all of the support!
