Keragan is eight weeks old today. Isn't that crazy?! We've been up here with her for four weeks today. In some ways it seems like an eternity, but in other ways I can't believe she's already eight weeks old. She's growing so much, too! Just in the last week she's gained half a pound and grown an inch and a half longer. She's moved up from preemie diapers to newborn diapers. She's barely fitting in the preemie clothes anymore. Her nails are so long and she keeps scratching herself until she bleeds. And it's only going to go faster.
The really exciting news is that apparently the rules have changed. They used to have to wait 7 days until the caffeine had completely warn off, and then go 7 days without an episode. However, now our doctor is saying that it's combined, and so as soon as she goes 7 days without an episode, we can take her home!!! This doesn't necessarily mean she's coming home next week, but it could happen. Now comes the hard part of sitting back and getting our hopes up each day that she won't have an episode. Today was good, so we have six more days to go.
It's exciting, but suddenly I'm realizing all that I have to do. I need to finish the mobile, complete the wall decorations I started, put together the night light. I still need to buy a crib (she is too squirmy for the bassinet for much longer) and glider (she's so used to being rocked to sleep I want her to have something familiar at home), need to get the car seat in the car, buy some of the basics (i only have two bottles right now). Not to mention buying the diapers and formula. By the way, if anyone has coupons for Neosure, please let me know! It doesn't sound like we'll get to take a monitor home, so I need to get a movement monitor. I'm excited, but a little overwhelmed. Tomorrow we're planning on doing some major shopping... Target here we come!
