I feel like I am stuck in a crazy cycle of being really busy, then doing nothing, back to being really busy... And on and on. I keep telling myself that I just need to get through _____, and things will slow down. But it doesn't happen that way! It seems like its immediately on to the next big thing.
This past week's big happening was the arrival of our new niece, Althea! She was a couple weeks early, but she's perfect! We're excited that Kera will have a cousin so close to her age. We got to watch my other niece, Lanay, who is 2. It was interesting, thinking ahead to when Kera will be that age. Add in some in-laws visiting, falling down the steps, and early mornings at work all week, and I was extremely ready for the weekend to relax! However, I tend to go to the other extreme, and I ended up laying around and watching Olympics. It was good to relax, but now I feel a bit unprepared for this coming week. The next big happenings are camping with my family next weekend and moving to my home office. Yes, I am going to be working from home! I'm also going down to 25 hours a week, which will allow me to focus more on Kera and avoid babysitters! I'm really excited about that!
With everything else going on, Keragan continues to grow! She's moving around like crazy! I don't see how we'll ever be able to put her in a bed without rails, because she is all over the crib. You can check on her every 30 minutes, and she'll be in a different corner and a different position. Her hair Is starting to grow back, which is fun. I'm tired of people thinking she's a boy, despite being in a pink stroller/car seat and wearing pink outfits. She's also starting to talk... She says the "k" and "g" sounds with various vowels, and she seems not at all hesitant about it! I keep trying to get "ma" but nothing yet! :)
Kera also met a new friend yesterday, and this was probably the closest baby to her age she's ever been with. I was amazed at how they say there and looked at each other, smiled at each other and even babbled to each other a little bit!!! It was amazing to me to see her interact with another baby. So cute!!! I've not wanted her to grow up, yet seeing her with Elise made me excited for her to continue growing!
