Home

We made it through the trip! It actually went fairly well for her, although I didn't get much sleep or much done. But I'm very glad that we went. We left in the evening at her bedtime, and she slept the entire 4 hours! It was nice, as I was a bit nervous about her screaming for hours. But it was fine! The next few days were really busy, but she was a trooper. She met sooo many people, was held by lots of different people and didn't really fuss much. The only problem we had was with sleep. She really fought sleep, which she never does at home. And she HATED the pack n play. So she ended up sleeping with me, and she is the squirmiest baby ever. I got hit, kicked, rolled into, slobbered on... Needles to say I didn't sleep as well as she did.
It was great to see everyone, even for such a brief time, and for Kera to get to know my family. I know at her age it seems like you have to start over every time you see her, but I think it really does make an impact.
Coming home was the most surprising, though. She was SO excited to see all of her stuff. She tends to be excited about a lot of stuff, but this was different. We got home at midnight, and I tried to put her in her crib without waking her up. As soon ads I put her down she opened her eyes and saw her owls, and got the biggest grin!! She kept touching them and staring st them. The next day was the same with everything else around the house. It doesn't seem like those things would be so important to her, but I guess after countless places, people and new things, she was happy to have something familiar.
My only regret was that I didn't take many pictures...
