Sleep

As usual, it's been a busy couple of weeks.  However, as tired as I am, I am NOT exhausted, because my little girl is FINALLY sleeping through the night!!!!  Consistently!!!!  She was doing fairly well, sleeping 12 hours straight once or twice a week, and the other nights waking up once to eat and a couple of other times needing her pacifier.  But it's been a whole week of sleeping through the night, and so I (cautiously) say that this is the new normal!!!  It's wonderful.  So, we're on a good schedule now, with her sleeping from 8-8.
She's eating like crazy, too, which I'm sure helps her sleep through the night.  She's eating cereal for breakfast, veggies for lunch and fruit for dinner.  And of course she still thinks that she should get to eat everything that we are eating.
We started this week "experimenting" with leaving Kera/babysitters.  Kera rarely has problems with strangers and is used to being held by different people, so we really didn't think we would have a problem.  Troy had parent teacher conferences one night when I had to work, so we had a friend come over to our house to watch Kera.  She did alright, but was definitely more fussy and didn't want to eat.  This second part really worried me, as she always eats.  So maybe it was just the fact that she knew I was in the house?
Troy and I have both been feeling really tied down with our work/Kera balance.  Troy can't stay after school at all, because I need him to get home to watch Kera so that I can work.  And if I want to do anything in the evenings, or watch Kera while Troy does something, I have to work late into the night to make up the time.  It's a sacrifice that we wanted to make so that we could keep Kera at home, but it has it's drawbacks.  So, we asked a friend to watch her one day a week in order for me to work a few extra hours without Kera and Troy to work late and have a little flexibility.  She has a little girl who is 4 months older than Kera, which will hopefully be great for her as she learns to play with other kids and share.  They came over this week for a play date, and Kera was so excited at first, but got pretty jealous when Elise started playing with her toys.  It made me realize that we're definitely ready for this.  We'll see how the first week goes.
