Enjoyment

Summer is flying by far too fast!  I knew it would, and was determined to make the most of every day, but I already feel like we're falling behind in my summer to do list.  Keragan loves having both Troy and I around at the same time and also loves spending hours each day playing outside.  Troy has made a goal to take her to every park in the area, so she's having a blast with that.  I've also been taking her to the library's local summer reading program, which she really enjoys.
We went to the zoo this week for the first time with Kera.  We'd considered getting a membership, however we weren't sure if maybe it was too soon and she was too young to really enjoy it.  We were wrong, though, because she loved it!  I don't think she was able to pick out some of the animals that were resting and not moving, but the ones that were up and about were pretty exciting for her.  We got to the mandril cage, and she leaned up against the glass looking in.  The mandril walked right up to her and put his hand against the glass where her hand was.  She got SO excited, and then the mandril went crazy!  I was sure that Kera was going to be scared out of her mind, but she just grinned and laughed and pounded on the glass.  She also loved the aquarium... probably because the fish were so close to her and she could really see them right in front of her.
I've been having a lot of fun with garage sale shopping for toys for her, and last week I found a little battery powered four wheeler.  She loves to push buttons, and as soon as she realized that she could press the button on the four wheeler and it would move, she was thrilled!  Unfortunately, she hasn't really gotten the hang of steering yet, so she just runs into things.  But it's cute to watch!
We finally got the baby pool out a few weeks ago, but she has no desire to get in.  She loves taking baths, so I didn't think it would be much different.  However, she's not thrilled about it.  But we still have a couple of months left, so hopefully she'll get excited!
Summer for us is also about having visitors, traveling and seeing people we haven't seen much during the school year. We're getting ready to go on a trip during which we'll see lots of family and 2 major cities that have been on our list to see for sometime. It'll be interesting to see how Kera handles all the traveling and different people, but I have a feeling she'll love it!
