Charts

Ugh... My last day of leave. I'm going back to work on Monday, and I'm dreading it. I've really come to love being at home, and I'm sad to see it come to an end. But life must go on, I suppose.
We went to the doctor today for her 3 month visit. The doctor is still very happy with her progress, although it seems to have slowed a bit. She now weighs 10 lbs 2 oz, which puts her on the charts!!! Even if it's only the fifth percentile, at least she's on the chart! She had been gaining a pound per week, but that has slowed quite a bit. Most likely from the travel of the last two weekends. She's still not on the chart for height or head circumference but we're getting there. She's up to 20 3/4 inches, but I think the nurse didn't measure her right. She seems a lot longer than that, and it would mean that she hasn't grown longer in the past month. She has to stay on the neosure until 6 months... He seems pretty firm on that.
Its kind of hard to judge how she's doing developmentally. Preemies have an actual age and an adjusted age (calculated from the due date). So even though Kera is 3 months old actual, she is only one month adjusted. They say that you should use the adjusted age as you look for developmental milestones, but she's definitely more advanced than a 1 month old. I know each child is different and progresses at a different rate, but my schedule loving self wants her to follow the books and do the things she's supposed to. Maybe I just want her to do those things before I go back to work and miss them all...
