Fall

And it's already fall.  I feel like I say this every post, but wow is time flying! I thought I'd have more time with our new schedule, but I feel busier (or more tired, perhaps) than ever.
Kera is loving school! The first week was a little rough, but after that she loved it.  Now when we ask her if she wants to go to school, she runs over, gets her backpack and runs to the door.  The teacher is really great, too, posting pictures and sending home notes daily on how she's doing.  It's fun to see her playing with other kids and trying new things.  We have her first field trip next week (pumpkin patch) and I'm going! It'll be interesting to see her interact in person.

It's also helped with her going to church nursery.  She would NOT stay in nursery, but since she started school we've had no problems.
Our continuing issue is sleep.  She slept through the night from 6-12 months, but the last 7 months she has been waking up during the night. It's 3-4 times per week, and usually if we give her a drink, she'll go back down in 5 minutes.  But it's still annoying.  We've tried everything, but the doctor just thinks she has a high metabolism and can't make it through the night.  She's getting her molars, too, so it's gotten worse in the past few weeks.  I told troy that God is either preparing me for another baby or telling me I can't handle another one, because I'm so tired! I don't remember being this tired when she was an infant.
Besides the sleep, this really is a fun age.  She's developing quite the personality! She loves performing and making us laugh, and she has some of the most expressive faces I've ever seen.  She LOVES to read, which we're happy about, even if it is the same ten books over and over and over.  And she's still obsessed with Dora the Explorer.
She's talking non-stop, too.  Mostly gibberish, but she can say enough to let us understand what she needs and wants.
This weekend we're going to try potty training.  I've thought that she may be ready for a couple of months now, but we always had something big happening, so I put it off.  But I really want to try before the holidays, and this is probably the last chance we'll have to be home for 2 straight weeks before the holidays, so we're going to give it a try.  She tells us when she's wet and when she pooped, so I know she's aware.  It'll just be a matter of getting her to use the potty.
Time to get ready for school!
